Caitlin Racenet is 10 years old and has lived in Wasilla her whole life. She has a disease called Tuberous Sclerosis Complex (TSC). TSC is a genetic disorder that causes tumors to grow in vital organs including the brain, heart, skin, kidneys, bones and lungs. These tumors cause serious health problems like epilepsy, autism, heart disease, mental disabilities, facial disfigurement, kidney failure, lung disease, and even death.
Caitlin has been living with TSC since the age of 1. She suffers from severe seizures every day due to the number of tumors in her brain—despite currently taking 11 different medications. She also has autism and debilitating anxiety, sensory disorders and horrible insomnia. Her kidneys, heart, and pituitary are affected. As she gets older she has a 40% chance of developing a sometimes fatal disease called LAM which leads to lung transplants.
We are raising funds to support Caitlin’s family and their fundraiser to find better treatments to shrink tumors and help manage the symptoms of TSC, and hopefully one day a cure. The funds will go towards the Tuberous Sclerosis Alliance, the leading advocate and patient resource for those with TSC.
Our agency will donate $10 to Caitlin’s campaign on your behalf for every recommendation you send our way, and we’ll add you to our monthly drawing for a $50 Gift Card.
